The City of Centralia, in partnership with Charter Communications, began airing local televison content in August 2007. In March 2010, the Centralia TV station (formerly channel 99) converted from an analog signal to a digital format, increasing content resolution and allowing the City's local access station to remain viable and compliant with evolving technology. Centralia TV features City Council meeting, local government activities and community announcements. The prupose of Centralia TV is to inform and involve the citizens of Centralia concerning the issues facing the City as well to be the number one source of accurate information regarding local government operations. The City is very excited about this channel, and hopes that all residents with access to this channel will be able to utilize it as a tool to stay abreast of important issues facing the City. The channel is available to all cable television subscribers within the City of Centralia at no additional charge. Centralia TV is on a loop that varies in length depending on the availability of content. Typically this is a four to five hour loop. New content is added to the channel weekly. Future programming on Centralia TV will include high school sporting events, 360 degree tours of the City, and content submitted by the general public. The City of Centralia is also soliciting local television enthusiasts to produce programs which would highlight the City and are appropriate to air on Centralia TV.
