How are code violations enforced?For all code complaints, the first step is for a Code Enforcement officer to verify that a violation exists. A notice of violation is sent to the resident or legal property owner, who is given the opportunity to voluntarily correct the situation in a timely manner. If the correction is not made in a reasonable amount of time the individual may be subject to further enforcement action.

Are sewers and storm drains the same thing?Sewers and storm drains are not the same thing. Sewers collect wastewater from indoor plumbing such as toilets, sinks, washing machines and floor drains. A municipal sewer system includes the collection, treatment, and disposal of sewage water. A municipal storm water system only transports water for flood control purposes, no treatment of storm water occurs before it is discharged to local bodies.

When am I allowed to burn leaves?The open burning of landscape wastes are permitted on the first full Saturday and Sunday of each calendar month (Excluding the months of August and July where burning is not permitted as well as City recognized holidays) from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., except for the months of September, October, and November when the open burning of landscape wastes are permitted from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday, except for the last Saturday and Sunday in the month of October.
