2007 Year End Report for the Centralia Fire Department. The Centralia Fire Department responded to a total of 1442 calls for the year 2007, compared to 1461 in 2006. During the year, there were 1Civilian deaths and 1 Firefighter injuries due to fighting fires (sprains, strains). The following is a breakdown of the incidents: Building Fires - 24 Apartments - 3 Public Assembly Fires - 2 Health Care Fires - 1 Stores/Offices Fires - 2 Industry/Utility - 1 Storage/Structure - 3 Vehicle Fires - 17 Fire, Other - 40 Rescue - 893 False Alarms - 107 Mutual Aid - 7 Hazmat Responses - 43 Other Hazardous Responses - 66 All Other Responses - 233 Of the false alarms 5 were for malicious or mischievous calls, 37 were due to system malfunctions, 51 were unintentional and 14 were other false alarms. The structure fire with the costliest loss was on October 6, 2007 at 325 S Walnut. Approximate loss value was $37,000. There was one death attributed to a fire last year and that was on October 6, 2007 at 325 S Walnut. The total dollar loss for 2007 was $195,525. The total value of property saved was $35,817,975. The total value of property at risk was $36,013,500. Total percent property lost .54% and total property percent saved 99.46% Total value of structural property was $35,844,100. Total value of structural property saved was $35,686,000. Total percent of structural property saved was 99.56%. The Centralia Fire Department conducted a total of 8656.25 training hours. We also performed 169 Pre-Fire Inspections.
